ARC Review~ Crystal Crowned

This marks the beginning of the end. I have watched this masterpiece of a series unfold, and I am so very proud to be writing and sharing this review with you all today. Not only has this series evolved into something I hadn't seen coming, but it led to new stories to be maybe touched upon in the future. Now since I have give this book a 5 star rating I will share with you five quotes I loved reading....
~My Five Favourable Quotes~
**Disclaimer: I received an ARC copy from the author in order to give my honest review of this book. This does not effect nor influence my opinions about the book in any which way**
**ALSO WARNING, if you have yet to read Water's Wrath I suggest viewing my review with caution. There is nothing overly spoiled, but I wouldn't want to ruin aanything for another reader.**

~Review~

Crystal Crowned by Elise Kova was something else. Getting into the book I knew it was going to be an emotional ride that I wouldn't be forgetting anytime soon. From the amount of character development to the direction the story took and everything in between this book was amazing. There are key things that really stood out to me as well to make this book a 5 out of 5 star novel.

We have witnessed the gruesomeness of war in this series and nothing about these characters made them safe. At any point one of the favourable characters could be dead, and that is what I liked about this book. On their journey we as readers never knew if someone was going to make it till the end of the book. Especially in this one considering the war and the gross monsters rooming the cities. Plus we had a major bad guy who was one to be scared of.

To me, I thought that the war against Victor was going to be the main concern and highlighted aspect of this book, and to some of you, you may view it as being the main thing. However in my eyes I saw two things that really stood out to me, firstly it was the war, but then their was the idea of the politics. Aldrik has been told from birth that he was to be the leader of the Solaris Empire, and in this book I believe we really see that step up from him. Yes, there were events that unfolded before hand to make him need to take on that sort of level of responsibility. But with that being said, seeing how he adjusted warmed my heart **Cough** white clothes **cough**.
The politics also took its toll on Vhalla as well. She was never meant to be anywhere near a throne, let alone have an idea of maybe becoming a ruler one day. To see how she handled the situations thrown at her was inspiring. It was also awesome to see the relationships she was making by speaking her mind.

I think Crystal Crowned was the complete and final step in Vhalla and Aldrik's character growth. I mean yes, some may say that's sort of obvious since it is the last book, but you have to understand that not every author can show development without it being either too spontaneous OR it happened earlier on and now its just having the rest of the story unfold. Elise I believe has clearly demonstrated that she knew and understood her characters. Each developed at a pace that occurred at different points and for different reasons.

OH, and then there was this really epic thing that happened with the symbol. You know this one:

Aldrik ended up changing it in order to fit the circumstances that were happening in Crystal Crowned and it was just so epic. I think I fangirled some hardcore because this all relates back to what I was saying about the development that happened in all these characters. I won't say more because I don't want to ruin it for others.

Another thing I liked about this book was seeing the relationships between the characters that would be considered secondary. We saw the many sides of Elecia, a girl who could probably kill someone with her stare alone. Then we finally got to know the insights of Jax, as heartbreaking as all the scenes were involving this kind of discussion, I think every reader learned from it as well. That there are stories to be told behind the jokes, laughter, and smiles.

The final statement I must make is THAT EPILOGUE. I mean I was already dying because of the way the book was ending and how i thought it might have ended (I was exploding with the emotions). Then Elise through that epilogue at us, and my heart is at peace.

Overall, this book was an epic conclusion to the Air Awakens series. It outlined and displayed all the reasons why I had first fallen in love with this series plus more. It's crazy to think that it has come to an end, but with seeing how brilliantly Elise Kova can create worlds, I am excited to see where she takes us next.

It is wonderful when you find a series you can put your whole hear behind! One thing about books that endear you is that the rereads you will do in the future will be wonderful, too. All of you are incredibly lucky to be getting a second series from her so soon. Great review. :)
